Rachel Anthony | Mental Health Social Worker
Rachel is a Mental Health Social Worker who brings an integrative perspective to psychological care, drawing upon her education in psychology and social work. She takes a holistic approach, considering not only each client’s internal world, including mind, body, and spirituality, but also the broader context of their relationships, environment, and life experiences. Rachel recognises that no two people are the same and tailors her approach to each individual.
Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred care with experience working across mental health, trauma, addiction, family violence and sexual assault services. Rachel has a particular interest in trauma and navigating relationship challenges. Amongst other approaches, she draws on evidence-based approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) to support clients in processing and integrating difficult experiences and incorporates Compassion Focused Therapy to help clients build self-compassion, reduce shame, and develop a more supportive internal relationship.
A message from Rachel:
“Starting therapy can be intimidating and vulnerable, especially if you’re not quite sure how to put into words what’s been going on. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin, and you are not expected to share anything you are not ready to. People come to therapy for many different reasons, whether it be the impact of past experiences or trauma, feeling stuck in patterns or relationships, experiencing disconnection from themselves, or seeking space for reflection, growth, and deeper self-connection. My approach is to meet you where you are and to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and not judged. Together, we can begin to make sense of your experiences, gently explore patterns, and work towards change in a way that feels manageable and supportive. I believe that healing and growth is not just about understanding things intellectually, but also about reconnecting with yourself on a deeper level, including your emotions, your body, and your sense of internal safety. Whether you’re new to therapy or have had support before, I’m here to support you on your journey in working through challenges, healing from the past, and moving towards meaningful growth.”
